Looking back: SVD 9
Charles thinks he hears the doorbell and finishes loading the washer so he can go check.

~*~*~*~
But there’s nobody there. It must have been his imagination!

~*~*~*~
It was the weirdest thing! Fiona came and dropped Sandi off, then left. As soon as she placed Sandi on the floor in front of the playpen … Sandi disappeared. I then paused the game and looked at their house to find Sandi’s icon as the only sim home. Odd, hunh?

~*~*~*~
Charles then went outside to work in his garden.

~*~*~*~
Hmm … something is missing. Charles figures it out while he is watering the trees. NEITHER tree has fruit. No apples! No lemons! How peculiar.

~*~*~*~
Charles hops into Old Blue (this truck is perfect for him!) and heads over to the library.

~*~*~*~
He looks up from his book and is about to compliment the fellow on his hat when he discovers that he’s no gentleman. Those two stand behind him … gossiping. How distasteful! Charles buries his eyes behind the newspaper in the hopes that neither will attempt to engage him in conversation because he isn’t sure he wants to know these two sims.

~*~*~*~
The paper advertises a new foreign film and Charles decides to go. Karen loved them! Afterward, they would go out to eat and talk about what they liked and didn’t like. Good times.

~*~*~*~
He tried to continue their tradition but it wasn’t as good without her. His French must be rusty because he got a bowl of chili instead of soup. TOO SPICY!

~*~*~*~
As Charles is finishing his meal, he sees Molly French and decides to say hello but keeps his conversation short when he notices how tired she is.

~*~*~*~
There are still two more days left in his weekend. What should Charles do? If Karen was here, they’d probably start planning a vacation or walk down to the beach to watch the sunset. SIGH Things just aren’t the same without her.

Let’s see how Charles fares in SV Daycare 11
Hmmm… I’m not sure what happened with Sandi. I’d be tempted to reload the game and see if it happened a second time.
Me neither. I’m thinking it had something to do with it being the weekend (non-workday) and adults going places so Sandi poofed home to meet the babysitter.
These oddities certainly add extra storytelling elements that might not have been there otherwise.
Poor Charles. Living without Karen is still difficult for him.
I think it would be, which is why I am not encouraging romance/dating at this point. Other stuff is in the works that might keep him busy and on his toes, lol
Fiona must have been confused about the business hours, but that’s a really efficient nanny that picked up Sandi. It seems like Charles would have rolled with the punches and cared for Sandi on his off day. Odd about his trees, with all the strange occurrences, I wonder if the lot is haunted.
The responsibilities for promotion mentions “handle emergencies” so I was thinking after-hour care. It might also be tied into Sandi aging up into a child. Or Fiona is just stalking Charles, lol
Haunted or something else? You’ll find out soon enough.
Strange? Sandi’s disappearance, trees without fruit, not to mention uninvited gossip at the library! So sad that, trying to make himself feel better only reminds him of how much he still misses Karen.. Hopefully, things will become happier and clearer for Charles.. Great story, can’t wait to see what happens next!
Duh duh duh … the plot thickens!
It must be hard to do the things he and Karen used to do. He may want to start is own traditions.
I like the way you think/worded this. Making new traditions instead of merely recreating the ones he had before is important.
