It is time! Time to…
Measure their success!
So… how did Generation 6 do?
Family Structure: Single Parent with ‘Help’
You may not marry or move in a romantic partner. Instead move in a friend, sibling, cousin, etc. to help raise the children. The Sim you move in takes the secondary career; it’s like playing the Couple roll, without romance. This ‘helper’ may have children of their own, but, like your sim, they may not marry or move in a partner. Any children the helper has counts toward the total number of children you rolled, provided that they grow up in your household. So if you roll for one child, only your Sim may have a child in the house, but if you roll two children, your Sim can have 2 and the helper none, or they can have one each, etc.
Summer had her BFF Brianna McHenry live with her until the boys got older.
The rules also mention that the ‘Help’ can move out when the youngest child reaches the halfway point in their teen stage, but I opted to have Bree move out when Duncan became a child because I felt keeping her there any longer wouldn’t add value to the story. Plus, I felt bad for “shanghaiing” her life and wanted her to be able to enjoy being on her own and doing whatever she wanted to do.
Number of Children: 2
Donovan (Van)
Duncan
Careers: Education and PT Job
At the time Van ages in YA,
1) Summer is a District Superintendent – L10
2) Brianna, before moving out, attained the position of Book Club Moderator (Bookstore) – L3
Generational Goal: The Opportunist
Your Heir must complete ALL Opportunities that they are presented with the exception of ones relating to travel. You may also skip Celebrity related opportunities if you are trying to avoid the celebrity system in this game. An opportunity can only be canceled if it becomes impossible to complete (due to the Sim who gave it to you dying, EA bugs etc.)
To keep things somewhat simple, I opted not to go the Celebrity route in this game. The Education career doesn’t provide many opportunities, but Summer accepted each one that came along as well as several skill-related ones. In hindsight, I should have re-rolled this so she could do something more interesting and noticeable to my readers.
Miscellaneous Fun: Half-Siblings
No two pregnancies or individual adoptions this generation may be with the same partner.
Van’s father is Remy Dutiel (Champ les Sims, France).
Duncan’s father is Bert Gaskins.
Every random roll has been accounted for.
Gen 6 is considered a success!!!
