The BIG 1
Day, week, month, year… time passed and soon it was a very special day in our house – Chance’s Birthday! I made a simple cake (don’t look at the picture too closely or you’ll see where the icing dripped down the sides because my hands were shaking due to all the excitement!) in honor of the momentous occasion.
What a handsome fellow he is!
His eyes lit up when I placed the small wrapped present in front of him. “Go ahead and open it, Birthday Boy!” I said with a smile. He quickly tore the box and wrapping paper off and giggled in delight at his new toy.
A few days later, we were able to celebrate another Birthday, Hope’s.
My two babies aren’t babies anymore. Sniff, sniff. Excuse me while I wipe these happy tears from my eyes. Hope gently removed the bow and wrapping paper from her gift, but her shriek of delight was louder than the one Chance had made!
As I prepared their bottles and my lunch, I realized that perhaps it was time to introduce solid food. It is time to give Furniture In A Flash another call and see what they have to offer in the way of highchairs.
While we waited for the delivery truck to arrive, I continued to teach them the basics – walking and going to the potty were priorities, then learning to talk quickly followed.
Soon enough, a familiar rumble could be heard outside. The highchairs had arrived and just in time, too! As soon as they were put into place I served dinner. Sigh. This is so much better than feeding them on the floor.
Between doing dishes and bathing my beauties, night quickly began to pass. Time for bed! A few cuddles, hugs, and kisses were shared before I could tuck them in and read out loud until they fell asleep… dreaming of Jimmy Sprocket and his amazing adventures. Good night, my darlings, pleasant dreams.
Happy Birthday Chance and Hope. My they are growing up so fast!
Yes, they do indeed grow up fast! Faster than ours, LOL – but I wouldn’t trade a moment of it for anything ๐
D’Aww, happy birthday, little ones! :3 Will we get to see some close ups soon? ๐
I hope so. I am new to taking pictures & have been trying to get close ups and pretty pictures. Still learning as I go ๐
It’ll get easier over time as long as you stick to it ^^ If you need inspiration for pictures, there’s loads of good blogs out there, such as Splash of Colour by BerryPie or The Danevbie Legacy by sErin ๐
Eeek, sorry, I forgot that I signed in on my other account
It’s still Mischief, just on my other account ^^
Thanks for the encouragement/tips ๐ I was actually peeking at Danevbie yesterday – GREAT minds think alike. Have also begun to poke my nose around yours… I like what I see and will definitely return!
Aww, thank you :3 I hope you’ll enjoy it, I try to update regularly ^^ You should love sErin’s, she’s a fantastic writer ๐ And if you ever want yet another one, I have two blogs ๐ The other one is on gen5 by now, there’s a link to it on SecretResonance if you’re interested ^^
That’s so cute! I love the way you took the screenshots as if they’d just unwrapped the gift and the toys appeared. Ah! Tugging at my heart. Love it!
Thanks! I was trying to make it look like they had unwrapped those and since you noticed… I succeeded ๐
