Time to share what’s been going on behind the scenes: I wasn’t sure I would be able to continue with this story. Glitches were adding up and the game was becoming unplayable. The workday either had no kids at all or kids being reset during daycare hours … either way resulting in no income for poor Charles. The game would also crash with zero warning so progress was lost and had to be done again. This kind of Groundhog Day I can do without, tyvm!
I didn’t want to have to say goodbye to Charles because he’s an interesting Sim. Several attempts were made before I stumbled across one that worked.
The lot and Charles have been moved to a new game folder. He’s back in business and the story can move forward again, hooray!
Screenshots from the original game and the new one have been cobbled together for several chapters and I’m really pleased with how things turned out.
The negative (glitches) turned into positive (interesting twists in the story). I hope to release the NEWEST chapter on Friday, but wanted to give you a heads up of our journey to get there.

Sorry you’ve been having these game-breaking bugs. So disheartening when you just want to play! Glad you were able to figure out a fix, and even to work some of the problems into your story.
It is! But like you said, working those bits into the story turned it in a direction it might not otherwise gone. Lemonade out of lemons indeed 🙂
