Now that Summer is old enough to travel, the family decides to have a little bit of French Fun!

This morning is filled with pleasant surprises! Hubby and teen have been spoiling me with delicious meals and fun times together as we celebrate Mother’s Day.

Then I peek at my email/blog and see that wonderful writers have received nominations for the Spirit Animal Blog Award. Good Luck to them as they certainly deserve this!

Imagine my face when I scroll down and see that they in turn have nominated me. I feel like I’m the kid who is no longer picked last to join in the game. I’m touched. I’m honored. I’m nearly speechless.

RosemaryMarie and bmitjessesue are wonderful writers with stories that easily catch one’s attention and imagination. Thank you for your kindness of nominating me when there are so many amazingly, creative bloggers out there who deserve a nom nod.

I think the award picture is an interesting one. It reminds me of moments when the sun shines bright with possibilities as guardians silently watch, sometimes giving little nudges of encouragement as one tries something new. Oh… it also reminds me of days when I played a Tauren in WOW. Good times.

I have to talk about me now? Yikes. I’m so boring. lol

Hi there. My name is April and I know I’m a lucky gal! When my daughter was a toddler I wished I could be home with her instead of working and my husband gave me that wonderful option. I’m still home and she is now 18 years-old ~ a beautiful, smart brownie (she says brownies are better than cookies!) who simply rocks my socks with the things she does and the opportunities that keep falling into her lap. I am truly blessed to be able to be called Mom by her. Hubby and I will be celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary in a couple of weeks so I know that I’m blessed that way as well. LOVE you both!!!

Hubby is the one who got me where I am today with this blog. He wanted to be sure that I wasn’t bored being home and also encouraged me to stay creative because we have both seen family members decline as they aged and stop using their imaginations. I love the Sims and would often tell him about what’s been happening in my game… one thing led to another and he told me that I should blog about it. I did and you’re looking at the results. I blog to stay creative and keep my little grey cells functioning.

So many wonderful animals! I would probably be a wolf… quiet, go about my business but mess with something or someone I love and you’ll quickly see fierce Mama Wolf.
